STUDIO SOMÉE

Co-Founder • Creative Direction • Design & Curation

Studio Somée was founded from a desire to slow down and create objects with intention. As co-founder and creative director, I shaped the studio’s vision, aesthetic, and creative output, from concept to object.

Somée exists at the intersection of design, art, and craftsmanship: a space for objects that are expressive, tactile, and made to last.

Objects with
Intention

From Fashion to Form

After years in the fashion industry, we felt the urge to move away from fast cycles and oversaturated products. Interior objects offered room for depth, longevity, and meaning, allowing creativity to live beyond trends.

Somée became a way to translate our visual language into physical form.

Creative Direction & Handwriting

I was responsible for defining and guarding Somée’s creative handwriting, a balance of clean shapes, expressive design, and emotional restraint. Every object was approached as a piece of art rather than a product.

The focus was on form, material, and presence, designing pieces that hold space quietly, yet intentionally.

Design, Curation & Collaboration

A black abstract sculpture with smooth, curved surfaces and a hole in the middle, placed on a white pedestal against a light grey textured wall.

Beyond designing our own objects, Somée functioned as a curated platform. We collaborated with like-minded designers and makers, united by a shared respect for craftsmanship and process.

Each piece was selected or created with care, contributing to a cohesive collection rather than a seasonal output.

Making with Intention

Production was small-scale and hands-on. Objects were carefully designed and produced, prioritising quality, material integrity, and longevity over volume.

One piece at a time.

Outcome

Studio Somée established itself as a thoughtful design studio and online boutique, known for its distinctive aesthetic and considered approach.

The project sharpened my relationship with form, material, and restraint, and continues to influence how I think about visual storytelling today.
